can you video my venue and fly over people?
Short answer, YES, with caveats. Note that flying over people requires a waiver from the FAA, which usually has to be submitted 90 days in advance. In addition, extra equipment and manpower are required for compliance. Is it worth it? Yes. Does it add to the cost and time? Also yes.
why do some gigs take so long to get ready to shoot?
The FAA does not care how good or amazing the production is. As soon as you are in the air, you are in their jurisdiction and aviation rules are vast and complicated. Mostly for safety, understandably so. Therefore certain projects require additional preparation, manpower, equipment and permits.
